5K Training

Fleet Feet Sports Training 5K is a 10-week program for runners and run/walkers who are already running 3 miles and want to increase their base and speed.

The Spring program will kick-off on Monday, March, 7th at 6pm. Whether you're trying to start something new or simply sticking to your current goals, the Spring 5K training program is a great way PR for the up coming spring races or to keep a base for longer distances. This Spring, the goal race will be the Amazing Grace 5k in May. This 10-week program will meet Mondays and Thursdays at 6, for coached training sessions. Participants will be in what was formerly know as the "glider" group in our No Boundaries program. Past participants have had success with their training goals and have made friends to keep running with. The cost is $100 for a single person or $175 for a family (up to 2 immediate members). While in the program, members will receive 10% off shoes, apparel, and accessories. 

Along the way we’ll provide you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. Plus, you’ll have the camaraderie of others just like you!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  What are the requirements for joining?

A:  You are required to currently be able to run three miles comfortably, have run a 5K within the last six months and be injury-free for a minimum of six months. Additionally, it is highly recommended to currently be running at least three days a week.  We have these requirements to prevent injuries and to make sure this is the best experience it can be for you.  We want everyone to succeed.   Participants must be 18 or older.

Q:  Do I have to be running the same goal race as the program is designed for?

A:  No, you are more than welcome to run ANY race and still train with us!

Q: When does the program meet?

A: We meet on Mondays evenings at 6 p.m. and Thursday evening at 6 p.m.

Q: How much does the program cost?

A: Registration costs $100. 

Q: If I have to miss a workout or two, does that mean I can't be part of the program?

A: Of course you can still be involved! We would love to have every training group participant at every run, but we understand that life and obligations may occasionally get in the way.
