Fleet Feet Sports will be beginning the next No Boundaries training program this August. Informational meetings regarding the program will be held on Tuesday, August 10 and Wednesday, August 11. Whether you're trying to start something new or simply stick to your current goals, No Boundaries beginner's training is a great way to get up and moving. Our training will begin August 17, 2010. Training will consist of a 10-week program with a weekly coached training session. All participants will receive a New Balance technical shirt and jacket. Fleet Feet Sports Kingsport is proud to offer a new 10-week Half Marathon Training Program for the Fall. The Half-Marathon (13.1 miles) program is designed for runners that can comfortably run or run/walk 5 miles. This program incorporates distance, speed, and hill work to prepare you for your first half marathon.
First Practice: Tuesday, August 10th
Target Race: The Haunted Half Marathon (October 30th)
Weekly Practices: Tuesdays at 6pm and Saturdays at 7am
Cost: $80 (does not include race registration)
Tuesday Evenings you will be challenged with a combination of hill work, form drills and speed workouts. Designed to help you run faster and more efficiently, you will be amazed with your improved overall fitness from these challenging and fun sessions.
Saturday Mornings we will go the distance. We will use this day to focus on increasing overall mileage. We will build up to running/walking 12 miles before we taper for race day.

Fleet Feet Sports is offering an intense, yet fun, 5 day Cross Country camp designed to improve performance, speed, and agility for the Cross Country Season. Sessions will be held at Warriors Path, Bays Mountain, and Dobyns Bennett track. Session I for middle school boys and girls will be held July 12-16 and Session II for high school boys and girls will be held July 19-23. Is your 5k or half marathon time in a slump? Do you want to improve your Crazy 8s time from last year? You have always heard how speed work can help. Here's your opportunity! Beginning Thursday, May 20, Fleet Feet Sports will be offering weekly speed work and training sessions on the Dobyns-Bennett High School track. Sessions will begin at 6:00 P.M. each Thursday evening. No running experience required. Runners of all abilities are welcome and there will be specialized training for all levels from beginners to advanced. Training sessions will be geared toward improving specific areas such as speed, strength, flexibility, and proper running mechanics. A typical
training session will consist of warm up, plyometrics, balance and agility exercises, speed work, core strengthening, cool down, recovery and stretching. Runners should bring a water bottle, towel or exercise mat and a small notebook with pen for recording training activities, achievements and personal best times. Come join us every Tuesday night at 6 o'clock pm for our weekly group run. Runners are divided into groups based on distance or pace with groups from 3 miles to 5 miles. It's a great chance to find someone fun to run with. Just come to the store if you're interested, there's no need to sign up or call ahead.
